Shortly after Chloe was born, I was watching HBO during a 3am feeding and I saw a preview for this movie, Something the Lord Made. I didn't think anything of it. Later that week, a family member mentioned the movie to me because they had seen it as well. I finally had a chance to watch it and LOVE it! It tells the true story, set in the early 1930's, about the black cardiac pioneer Vivien Thomas and his complex and volatile partnership with white surgeon Alfred Blalock, the world famous "blue baby doctor" who pioneered pediatric heart surgery. They even portray Helen Taussig as an important role in open heart surgery on blue babies. I recommend for all heart families! I give it 5 stars!
